Hello! My name is Magnus, owner and CEO here at Båsenberga.
I would like to start by saying a warm welcome to our new blog – a place where we share inspiration, thoughts and stories directly from our hotel and conference center in Sörmland.
A little tip right now: before dinner, take a short walk in nature. Here in Sörmland we have the luxury of being surrounded by forest, meadows and fresh air and I notice time and time again how a short time outside makes a difference. The food tastes better, the mind settles down and the conversations become deeper. Simple, but incredibly valuable.
Locally produced food from Sörmland
For me, Båsenberga is more than a hotel with different possibilities – it is a place with soul. We are surrounded by nature that provides peace and recovery, but also by people and producers who deliver fantastic raw materials. The deer from our neighboring land and the pike perch from Hjälmaren are just two examples of how the food here is a story about the place we are in – the pantry we live in.
We want every meal to be more than just food – it should provide a taste experience with roots in Sörmland.

Many guests come here to take a break from everyday life, relax and just be for a while. With us you can fill your weekend with walks, good food and time together. The proximity to nature is one of our greatest assets – that's why I often take that short walk before dinner I suggested. It's my way of opening my senses and fully enjoying everything that Båsenberga has to offer.
